In his first career gold cup start, Quinn Sullivan nearly scored the go-ahead goal in the 30th minute. Following a swinging ball inside the box from Quinn Sullivan, he timed it perfectly and almost flew in to volley the ball mid-air. The awesome shot was saved by Haiti goalkeeper Johny Placide.
The ball went into the crossbar resulting in a corner kick for the United States. But, Sullivan again cracked a goal from a distance which was saved by Placide. In the second half, twice within five minutes, the U.S. had a goal called back.
Richards Played a Long Ball Over the Top to Agyemang
During the 64th minute, Richards played a long ball over the top to Agyemang. Though the striker slipped on the play, Sullivan cleaned it up and sent a firm cross into the box. Haiti, while attempting to clear deflected for an own goal but it was invalidated due to the unintentional handball from Tillman.
Some moments later, it looked like Tillman scored again after he collected a backdoor pass over the backline from Adams. Though the U.S attacker finished, the play was ruled offside. Soon, the U.S. was able to break through and Tolkin played an awesome ball into the path of Agyemang making a run.
After this, Agyemang took a deft touch to get past Placide coming off his line. After that, he calmly rolled the ball into an open goal to put his country ahead 2-1 in the 75th minute. This is the third straight win for the United States and they now await another team to face off in the finals.
