The craze for Ghibli-style art has swooned social media feeds from past weeks. From celebrities to citizens, everyone is trying their best to look at the world of Ghibli. Even though it is not the same as created by Hayao Miyazaki, the actual owner of Studio Ghibli art, the outcomes by OpenAI are still fascinating.
Following the trend, Sam Williams, CEO of OpenAI, has also transformed his pics into Ghibli art. Yesterday he posted one of his Ghibli featuring him as an Indian cricketer. The CEO posted the picture with a prompt saying, “Sam Altman as a cricket player in anime style.” The picture got a hit within hours, having more than thousands of comments. Some are praising and some are analyzing ways to turn pics with such twists and turns.
Before posting his Ghibli as an Indian cricketer, he also shared a post praising India for the use of Ghibli. He said, “What’s happening with AI adoption in India right now is amazing to watch. We love to see the explosion of creativity—India is outpacing the world.” His words in the post somehow describe how he likes cricket and India as a whole for trying Ghibli-style art.
This post grabbed a certain amount of awareness from people. Someone commented that “ India is proving that AI adoption isn’t just for corporations but is becoming a tool for the masses.” It defines how the country is utilizing the AI for different purposes.
Sam Altman also posted a Ghibli-style art featuring him and his little son where it sparks warm vibrations of a father and a son. People are also sharing their own Ghibli as a comment to cherish the post. Before sending those images, the CEO already made a post on the 2nd of April, 2025, saying, “You all are not ready for images V2…” Somehow he gave people a hint of his upcoming Ghibli.
