For example, the government has set up the Raygada Railway Division project to create more stations in different parts of Odisha. 2. Better Infrastructure for Railroads
The Indian government has promised to improve the condition of railroads present in almost every part of this nation. The nation is willing to spend more than 5 Crore Rupees (600 billion Dollars) in order to make all railroads better. The government is already employing more people to inspect railway tracks and conditions to fix them immediately.
Aside from this, AI-driven monitoring systems are being used to check the condition of railway tracks and to detect problems fast. Aside from this, the government is aiming to deploy more lightweight wagons and coaches to replace the more traditional heavyweight ones. The main aim here is to put less stress on the railroads as much as possible.
Construction and modification of railway bridges is also being undertaken. In fact, the government is planning to create more cable-connected bridges and also make the biggest railway arch bridge in Jammu and Kashmir. These efforts are being made to make railway services more advanced and up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.
3. Creation of Better Trains
You might have already known about the Vande Bharat Express which is a train that resembles a Japanese bullet train. The Modi government is now planning to create more than 70 trains having a similar design. These trains will run at really high speeds and will be operated purely by using electricity only.
The government has promised to include facilities such as entertainment gadgets, improved seats that can accommodate more than two people and even double-decker trains as well. The main purpose of this is to make all Indian trains resemble those present in other developed nations and perform like the Japanese ones.
As for goods trains, the government has promised to include light-weight carriages that are of international standards. The main purpose of this is to make freight trains more light-weight and faster for better logistics services.
4. Improvement of Railway Stations and Security
The improvement of railway stations and security is being done under the ‘Amrit Bharat Station Scheme’ program. This program aims to not only create more railway stations but also improve the condition of the existing railway stations as well. The program aims to make the railway stations cleaner and enable free Wi-Fi services as well as deploy more law enforcers for security. The law enforcers will be required to not only give security on the stations but also inside trains as well.
