The MCU has been one of the most successful movie and web series of all time. It has been able to change the genre of superhero, action, drama, fantasy and science fiction all at the same time by making excellent movies. Right now the MCU has a great opportunity in order to make better movies since it has purchased Twentieth Century Fox and can now legally use all intellectual properties attached to it.
This of course, involves famous Marvel comic book characters such as the Fantastic Four, the X men and every other character associated with them. In fact, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige aims towards using all of these characters alongside others that are already owned by them to interact with one another and make movies more entertaining. In short, Mr. Feige wants to recreate events in comics involving characters whose movie rights belonged to different studios previously.
However, the MCU has been in a very bad condition lately. This is mainly because of several flop movies and web series which have not been able to satisfy the majority of the American or even overseas audience. Most people in fact, are thinking that Marvel instead of entertaining people are pushing social agendas in the form of entertainment and that too in the worst and hypocritical ways possible. In fact, characters like Captain Marvel and She-Hulk have been criticized for not being likely at all and the movies and web series they starred in also had poor screenplays.
The Disney-like approach has also been criticized to be too cringe and childish since most viewers not only include children but also adults as well. In fact, this is why only “Spiderman No Way Home” and “Deadpool and Wolverine” succeeded because not only they brought back characters who previously belonged to movies by other studios but also because the movies had great screenplays with occasional mature but still meaningful tones. And now the MCU has promised to make a Fantastic Four movie. The main thing that most people are fearing in this case is that not a single Fantastic Four movie in the past did well at the box-office. So let us see if Marvel Studios can fix this problem.
What Can We Expect From The MCU Fantastic Four Reboot?
MCU President Kevin Feige has stated that Marvel Studios will completely reinvent the Fantastic Four as characters on screen. It has been known from the latest rumors that the movie will be set either in the 1960s or the 1980s. In fact, its tone will also make everyone reminisce about movies from the 60s, 70s and 80s. It has also been stated that the movie’s plot might not take place in the main MCU timeline.
In fact, it might take place in a parallel Marvel universe where the Avengers have not been formed yet. Kevin Feige stated that the movie will be light hearted and have humor that is very retro in nature. In fact, the movie’s costumes have also been revealed to be like something taken straight from the period before the 90s. The movie will also be family friendly and will resemble something that is a mix between, science fiction, action and family drama flicks.
It has been stated that the movie will not repeat the origin story of the Fantastic Four which has already been shown many times before. The movie makers in the MCU have also promised that the plot will be simple and yet very impactful at the same time. Although much information has not been revealed regarding the movie’s plot, Mr. Fiege has stated that this one will simply be better than the previous Fantastic Four movies made by Fox.
The movie will star actors Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby in lead roles. It has been stated that Pedro’s performance has been outstanding as per the pre release receptions by critics. The movie’s post credit scenes might feature many MCU characters from the main MCU timeline and also the supervillain named Dr. Doom who will be played by Robert Downey Jr. who previously played the role of Iron Man.
Now it has not been revealed as to whether this character will be the main Dr. Doom or an evil alternate version of Iron Man. However, it has been rumoured that all other actors who played the role of Mr. Fantastic, leader of the Fantastic Four will return in a post credit scene or at least this return will be teased. This implies that the audience will have to be ready for a big surprise and more entertainment from the MCU and its Fantastic Four reboot might be better.

The Fantastic Four movie will be released on July 25th 2025 and will mark the start of the MCU phase 6 which is the final phase of the multiverse saga. Despite doubts from the audience, Mr. Kevin Feige has promised that this movie will be better and will redeem the MCU of its past mistakes.
However, many people are still not happy with certain decisions such as gender-swapping the Silver Surfer who is a major character tied to the Fantastic Four and will also make an appearance here.
