The USA is known to be a land of opportunities. It is also known as the land of a lot of serial killers and state-of-the-art pornography as well. But from now on it will be known as the land where vigilante justice is served in real life and not just in movies and comic books.
And all this has been possible due to an individual named Luigi Mangione. Mr. Mangione has been charged with killing a healthcare company CEO. However, he is not being hated for this act. Instead, people are celebrating him and telling him to do such acts even more. So let’s see why he is getting such a response.
What is Luigi Mangione’s Case?
Luigi Mangione is a 26 year old young man who was known for being an incredible student and a genius engineer. He was born into a rich household as well. However, despite having a promising career, Luigi suddenly deleted all social media apps, quit his job and left his parents house during 2023. He did not contact anybody until suddenly he got arrested for the murder of UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson.
During the night of the CEO’s murder, he was seen walking to a building when a masked man with a gun shot him three times from the back. When the police arrived there, they saw that the bullets had inscriptions written on them which were: Deny, Defend and Depose. Later, Luigi went to a McDonald’s restaurant just two days after this incident wearing a hooded jacket. A person in the restaurant thought that he was the CEO killer and reported him to the police leading to his arrest.
Upon arrest, Luigi said that he did appeal for insurance from UnitedHealthCare for his back pain. However, the company did not give him any money for his treatment and instead forced the doctors treating him to go for rather problematic and inefficient treatment measures which cost less. This ultimately caused him to have more back pain because of a surgery. Due to this reason, he could not exercise or relax properly on bed or chairs.
Luigi reported about having a lot of anger towards the company for denying his claims. In fact, the police later found that this company has been responsible for forcing medical institutions to not give proper treatments by denying insurance claims.
This has led to many deaths and paralyses. The police also found that the late Brian Thompson is the mastermind behind this and he has cheated a lot of people in the name of giving them health insurance. However, Luigi denied killing the CEO. The police have also found some inconsistencies regarding Luigi’s appearance and that of the assassin.
What is The Current Status of Luigi’s Case?
It is still not clear as to whether Luigi is the murderer or not even though he supports the killing of the CEO. Most people in the US are saying that they are tired of the corruption caused by certain rich individuals and they should be killed. In fact, they are saying that Luigi should kill more of such people if he really is the murderer.
However, the police have found that the murderer whose face was caught in a footage during the incident did not have the same eyebrows as Luigi. In fact, Luigi himself has pleaded that he is not guilty and needs immediate medical treatment due to his back issues. Even his cellmates in jail are supporting him and pleading to the police to free him. All this shows that he has a good reputation and even some chance of getting justice if he truly is being framed.
What This Case Says About Today’s Society?
Luigi’s case shows that more common people are starting to be more intolerant towards social evils. If Luigi really is the murderer, then this shows that it is time for people to be proper human beings. In fact, the lack of humanity, too much corruption and allowing immoral behavior to happen has forced common people to take up violent means for restoring justice.
Whoever the murderer really is, has been called “The Adjuster” by common Americans. However, the presence of such vigilantes is alarming and should be something that exists in fiction and comic books only. But can we really blame the rise of such people when nobody is telling people to stop being evil?
