The Indian army seems to be upgrading itself day by day. At first, we saw that the Indian army had laser weapons at its disposal. The INS Tushil ship also made it more powerful. Now, the army has gone one step further by including robotic mules.
The Indian army has become one of the few armies in the world to include robots. These robots have become another group of personnel. So let us see what kind of robots the Indian army now has.
About The Robots In the Indian Army
Recently, the Indian army included four-legged robots as a part of its personnel. Indian engineers and researchers in New Delhi developed these machines. The main purpose of these is to make the army more effective. And by effectiveness, the army not only wants to fight better but also put less stress on soldiers.
These robots are officially called robotic mules. Some are also calling them robot dogs. These robots were initially made to carry luggages. However, they were later modified to have other features.
However, you should not think that the army calls these mules since they will replace mules. In fact, the term mule in this case is actually an acronym. The acronym is for multi utility legged equipment. This in short stands for MULE.
So technically these are more like robotic war dogs than mules. The army has named these robots Sanjay. The army displayed these robots recently at the Republic day parade in Kolkata.
These robots have sensors which can track anything or anyone within a large radius. These are also capable of moving in any kind of environment. The robots can climb steep areas and walk on any area no matter how rough it is.
The robotic mules can also detect bombs or harmful chemicals in any location. These can operate in any kind of environment. These are also extremely durable. In fact, you cannot destroy these easily using fire, water or even nuclear radiation.
