Wars are happening more frequently in the current times. The Russia-Ukraine war and the conflicts between Israel and Palestine have caused most global leaders to be under mental stress. In fact, what worries the most in this case apart from war-related inflation is whether more wars will break out or not.
India is also among one of those countries that wants to avoid a war but does not know how it can in the current times. This is because of the current conflicts with Bangladesh over Sheikh Hasina and the massacre of Hindus. Pakistan and China are also major threats in this case as they might be the ones causing the rift between India and Bangladesh. So let us see how India might fare in an international conflict.
What is India’s Current Military Strength?
Currently, India has one of the strongest military forces to have ever existed in the world. In fact, India is considered among the top 5 nations that are hard to defeat based on their soldier and weapon numbers. The Indian military has more than 1 million personnel operating at different levels.
In the current times, the Indian military not only has a huge number of people ready to die or kill for their country but also has advanced weaponry at their disposal. This consists of supersonic missiles, rifles, and machine guns with more rounds to fire in a short time and even advanced tracking systems to detect any enemy coming from a large distance.
Apart from this, India has more than a 100 nuclear weapons including atomic and hydrogen bombs. These bombs can apparently look less dangerous due to their small size. However, they can wipe out any city or even a country from the world map if deployed. All this makes India a force to be reckoned with.
How India’s Military Strength is Compared to Others?
India’s military strength lacks a bit more than that of China. This is because China has more than 2 million soldiers and 3000 ship fleets, fighter jets and tanks. Although the number of fighter vehicles is equal to that of India, China has more than 400 nuclear bombs. It also ranks third among the top 5 military powers in the world, thereby crossing India in terms of strength.
However, India’s military power is far more than that of Bangladesh. This is mainly because Bangladesh has only 50 aircraft and ships which is far less than that of India. Bangladesh also has more than 200,000 soldiers. The country ranks 37th in terms of military strength and does not have nuclear weapons. This makes it very weak in comparison to India.
India’s military strength is also more than that of Pakistan. This is because Pakistan has more than 1000 advanced weaponry and a very less number of advanced aircraft or tanks compared to India. Pakistan however has more than a 100 nuclear weapons which does make it formidable.
What India Can Do In an International Conflict?
It will be better if India avoids a nuclear conflict against any of the nations mentioned above. However, the other nations might not be so considerate which can force India to cause immense devastation. China itself can also cause the same amount of destruction to India if not more if a full-scale war happens.
If all the three nations attack India together then it will be a chaotic situation. In fact, this can attract the attention of other countries especially USA and Russia and even others like Ukraine and Israel who are at war themselves. India might not be able to defeat all these enemies alone. However, its recent aggressive military policies under the Modi government still gives it a chance to win.
One Final Thought
If India does go to war with these three countries then many other countries will also get involved. Some will be against India while others will want to help this nation and some like Afghanistan might seek help from it against the Taliban rule. This would result in an actual third world war breaking out. And with so many conflicts happening in different parts of the world, this might not be an impossible scenario.
So, it will be good if India seeks out more peaceful solutions. However, India’s military power does give it a chance to stand up against unethical politics of other countries. India will surely win such a war even though only time will decide this.
