The Indian government plans to tighten security near the Bangladesh border. The government started such preparations after Mohammad Yunus met Pakistani and Chinese representatives. This has caused India-Bangladesh border tensions to become worse.
So what does this mean about India’s security? Is it something horrible or a foreshadowing of a war?
Security Tightens Amidst India-Bangladesh Border Tensions
Bangladeshi immigrants entering and leaving India illegally is not something new. However, after Sheikh Hasina was overthrown, many Hindus faced threats in Bangladesh. This led to the possibility that many Hindus might try to enter India illegally. Although Narendra Modi promised to help such Hindus, he has not done anything yet.
However, Mohammad Yunus’s meeting with ISI members has raised India’s concerns. This is because ISI is a spy agency that has targeted India before. In fact, you probably know about how the ISI increased tensions and conflicts in Kashmir.
Now, the ISI has promised to help Bangladesh defeat all of its enemies. And the main enemy here is India. You can confirm this since Yunus is willing to attack the nation.
However, certain high ranking Pakistani army generals also met with Yunus. These individuals visited to see the India Bangladesh border near West Bengal. They inspected certain parts of the Chicken’s neck area near Siliguri, West Bengal.
This has increased the India-Bangladesh border tensions since no one knows inspection’s reason for the inspection. Many Indian army officials feel that Bangladesh did this to let spies enter India through this area. Due to this, the Indian army has decided to set up more security in every area near the border.
This includes, areas in West Bengal, Assam, Tripura, Mizoram and Meghalaya. The army has put special focus on West Bengal and Tripura due to many Bengalis present here. The army did this since Yunus said that he would attack and occupy certain areas near the border.
The Indian military has also deployed drones and radar technologies. Their purpose is to detect movements through the borders and capture suspects immediately. This is because the army uncovered several underground tunnels near the border.
The army is also planning to seal these tunnels. They are also trying to keep strict security watch on lakes and rivers in this area as well. In fact, the army might not let most people from India visit Bangladesh right now and vice versa.
Concluding Thoughts
Since the India-Bangladesh border tensions intensified, people are fearfully living near the border. Narendra Modi cannot help Bangladeshi Hindus right now. This is because many people from this country are using fake Hindu names to enter India.
An example of this is Saif Ali Khan’s attacker who used a Hindu name to come here. This shows that Indians need border security to ensure social security. The army can stop ISI members by improving security near the border. Hence, this will also stop terrorist attacks on India by Bangladesh as well.
